Thanks to our supporters Saucony, Rhode Runner, Mark Mercurio, FlynnSports, PPT, Lanni Chiropractic, Polar, PC Track and XC, Dunkin and all 123 Runners and all 20-ish teams for coming to race on the cold fall morning for the third annual PVD Fallcomers 5k XC Team Challenge!

Collin Liebold defended his 2018 title as Men’s individual champion ahead of Ryan Pholek and Olympic Skiier Noah Hoffman.
Our Women’s Champ was Abbe Goldstein!
Brown Running Club Crushed the Mens and Mixed Team Championship but got edged out by Ronald McDonald House Striders for the Women’s Team Title!
How’d our Local team of Olympians do?
2 time Olympian, Nordic skier Noah Hoffman pushed hard for 3rd:
2008 Olympian Ro McGettigan edged out 3 time Olympian Kim Smith for an age group win ! Kim: ” aw man I want a coffee gift card, I shouldn’t have eased off” .
2012 Olympian Craig Kinsley set a non Javelin PR!
2014 Olympic bronze medalist pairs skater Marissa Castelli ππ»ββοΈ came through just under 25 mins , thanks for supporting our race, Β Team Olympians!
(and Shawn Furey did some spectating and let his kids do the running ! He’s back javelin training and apparently 5k trail and xc runs aren’t a popular training routine for the throws events ) -2020 here we come!
Our Kid’s middle school Merc Mile saw only 3 brave finishers .

It was cold so some bundled up and did an 800 instead
Our Youngest 5k finisher Zia blitzed a 21:39 and beat half the field-this girl is one fast 8 year old!
New England Distance Crew was volunteering with Ann And Bob Rothenberg and the Providence College Team was also putting in hours -thanks everyone!

They’re off! The Friars XC team volunteered along the course and Coach Ray Treacy was our official race starter again this year.
Aisling Cuffe and Collin Liebold were our 5k champions this year!
NAPS was our mixed team and overall men’s team champion!
From the Cumberland Running Club we saw New England Distance Roland’s Angels pack up to win the women’s team title!

Our Local Olympians team was one short, so lil Ava Dumas filled in! Thanks Craig Kinsley, and Sean Furey for trading your javelins for XC spikes! And Roisin McGettigan put her steeple skills to use on the trails.
The New England Distance Crew helped run the show smoothly. We raised $5,300 for them this year!
PVD Mayor Jorge Elorza stopped by to wish us luck and support fitness in the city- you can actually run 5k with him every Sunday at Roger Williams Park!
Our @Go4ItFilm middle school mile saw 11 year old Maddison Dutra fly to a 7 min mile !
Aw she was happy.

An all-comers 5k cross country race through scenic Roger Williams Park. Register as a 4 person team (men’s, women’s or mixed 2ππ»/2ππ»ββοΈ) or race as an individual.
Free XC Middle School Mile for all middle schoolers will go at 9:30 A.M.
All proceeds Support New England Distance
